China’s investments in Morocco’s railway and infrastructure sectors have expanded in recent years. Xi’s “brief visit” to the African nation followed the conclusion of the G20 summit in Brazil, Deutsche Welle reports on November 22nd.

Xi was welcomed in Casablanca by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan. Morocco’s state news agency MAP described the gesture as a reflection of the strong bonds of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between the two nations.
Chinese leader later met with Aziz Akhannouch, the head of the Moroccan government, before being honored by the Royal Guard.
