Israel Kills 100 Palestinians in Gaza Shelter School

According to officials in Gaza, an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza City has killed over 100 Palestinians and wounded dozens more, Al Jazeera reports on August 10th.

Gaza’s civil defence agency reported that three Israeli bombs struck al-Tabin school in the Daraj district on Saturday, August 10th, describing the attack as a “horrific massacre”.

The dead are reported to include women, children, and the elderly, with the toll expected to rise. The attack occurred during morning prayers, sparking a fire that tore through the building.

Ismail al-Thawabta, the head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, stated that Israel was aware of the displaced people sheltering inside the school.

The Israeli military stated that its air forces targeted a “command and control center” that was being used as a hideout for Hamas terrorists and commanders.
