In update from Lebanon’s Health Ministry, it has been reported that a total of 492 individuals, including 35 children, have lost their lives, Al Jazeera reports on September 23th. An additional 1,645 people have been wounded as a result of Israeli military strikes.

Residents of Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley in the east were ordered to evacuate their homes ahead of a large-scale bombing campaign by Israeli forces. UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in both Lebanon and Israel, warning that it poses a grave threat to civilians.
Russell highlighted the peril faced by “countless” children, many of whom have been displaced from their homes, calling the intensifying attacks a “dangerous escalation” for vulnerable populations.
