We are willing to sit down with the Europeans and the Americans for dialogue and negotiations. We have never approved of Russian aggression against Ukrainian territory.
This statement marks a significant shift for Iran, which has faced accusations of providing military support to Russia during the conflict. Pezeshkian’s remarks suggest that his administration may be open to rethinking its position amid mounting international pressure.
The president’s call for diplomatic talks could pave the way for potential negotiations with the West, as the war in Ukraine continues to strain global relations.
