Fairuz, Lebanon’s legendary singer and beloved icon of the Arab world, celebrated her 90th birthday last Thursday, November 21st, amid Israel’s assault on Lebanon, Middle East Eye reported on November 21st.
Known for her songs about Lebanon and the Palestinian cause, Fairuz’s timeless voice has united generations with themes of love, resilience, and longing.
Social media was flooded with tributes, many featuring her iconic wartime anthem, “I love you, oh Lebanon, my homeland, I love you”.

“Fairuz’s music has touched generations, offering solace during wars, pain, and diaspora” one user wrote. Another noted that “She turns 90 amidst yet another war. May she and Lebanon endure forever”.
