UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy is facing backlash for stating that Azerbaijan had “liberated” the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Financial Times reports on September 20th. His comments were made in a blog post on Substack, where he aims to provide more in-depth analysis of global issues and UK foreign policy.

Azerbaijan has been able to liberate territory it lost in the early 1990s.

Following this, pro-Armenian politician from London, Laurence Broers, sought to critique Lammy’s views on his X page. Broers is known for his articles on the South Caucasus and the Armenia-Azerbaijani conflict, along with his outspoken anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric.
