Morocco has started delivering 40 tons of medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza, Middle East Monitor reports on June 24th.
The aid package comprises surgical equipment, supplies for treating burns and fractures, and children’s medicine, according to the statement of Reuters.
The aid, transported by air, will be loaded onto Palestinian Red Crescent trucks at the Karm Abu Salem Crossing. This crossing was first utilised by Morocco to deliver aid in March 2024, a senior diplomatic source informed Reuters.
Moroccan authorities claim they are using their connections with Israel to promote peace and protect Palestinian rights. However, since the onset of the war in Gaza, numerous protests have erupted in Moroccan cities, criticising these ties.
